i untar/gzipped the file into /thwb. i set this and all subdirectories to 0777. i then opened ./thwb/admin/install.php. it says weiter. i push and nothing happens. what am i doing wrong?

First of all, you don't need to set chmod for ALL directories. You only have to set chmod for the directory inc and optional for templates.
What do you mean with "nothing happens"? Does the install.php file reload at least, or does just nothing happen? What Browser and what PHP Configuration do you use?
maybe this error occurs because of th "register globals" setting in your php.ini file. in the announcement-board, there is a fix for that problem.
be sure you have the latest version (2.8 atm)
the install.php file reloads but the welcome banner from the installer just stays on the screen. what do the settings in the php.ini file under register globals have to do with anything? I am new at php. Thx.
